Seriously…I have the CUTEST little babies come to my studio! I am one lucky photographer.  This sweet little nugget came to see me fresh after my Newborn Photography refresher  and she was SPOILED with new props, layers, wraps, and headbands.  Everything complimented her incredibly beautiful and perfect features. I mean…just LOOK at some the adorableness captured:

Before clients visit the studio, I ask if they have anything specific in mind or if they would rather I take the reigns and “do my thing (thang)” with my session flow. Naomi’s mom was extremely excited for me to take the reigns. So that’s exactly what I did! I had SO many goodies to use during her session. The beautiful headbands were from were handmade with care by Baby Bliss Props aren’t they absolutely PRECIOUS?! I just LOVE how the soft colors compliment Naomi’s soft features.

This sweet little girl was also SO good during her Classic Mini Session.  We were able to get a variety of poses while she slept soundly the entire hour! Mom had a very difficult time deciding which images to choose for her gallery. These are the kind of sessions where I pinch myself…

Welcome to the WORLD, Baby Waylon!

Do you know why I truly love my job? As a newborn photographer, I get to capture the very first moments of life.  Those monumental moments where two parents are promoted from being a couple to a family; or those moments where the first born child becomes a sibling for the very first time. I get to capture life-changing stages so YOU can look back and savor the feeling you felt during that exact moment. Isn’t that amazing?!

Baby Waylon came to the studio to see me in the beginning of July.  Mom contacted me for a mini newborn photography session and I was so excited to get my hands on this sweet baby! Mom was referred to me by sweet baby Ellis’ mom–both boys’ moms work together and became first time moms within a few short months–how cool is that?! They have each other to text in the middle of the night during feeding sessions!

Waylon’s mom wanted simple, fresh, and organic with a touch of drama–which describes my style exactly. I love focusing on the sweet details of the baby without pulling focus with huge hats or anything that would over-power baby’s features. Since Waylon’s gallery was a Classic (Mini) Session, his session lasted about an hour and there were a handful of beautiful set-ups.  Just look at the cuteness that was captured:

Waylon was so sweet and sleepy! We were able to get so many sweet images! I tell parents the most ideal time to capture newborns is within the first ten days of life.  This way babies are still sleepy and transition from pose to pose with ease. However, sometimes, babies go through periods of cluster feeding during this time period.  If this happens, we just push the photo shoot out a few days to allow time for baby time to adjust to efficiently eating.

Isn’t he so sweet, cuddling that cute little bear? All my newborn props, wraps, bonnets, headbands, and outfits in the studio were handmade specifically for newborn photography–just like this little bear! I found him from an Etsy store called A Bit Of String–so cute, right?!

Welcome to the world, sweet Baby Jack!

As a newborn and baby photographer here in Charlotte, I LOVE connecting with people and hearing their stories.  When this momma contacted me, wanting to schedule a maternity and newborn session, I knew I wanted to capture this adorable growing family with the beautiful golden light for the maternity session, and I had a bunch of goodies up my sleeve for the newborn session as well. Just look at the warmth and love captured in the below photographs–isn’t mommy stunning?!

Charlotte Newborn Photographer || KatieRie PhotographyDuring the maternity session, mom shared with me that their precious baby was LONG awaited for.  Baby Jack was a rainbow baby.  Now, ALL babies are special and precious and perfect little miracles, but rainbow babies represent the promise of hope after a storm. I truly LOVE my job, but when I hear stories like this it takes the emotion to a whole new level.  I am extremely humbled and honored to be chosen to capture these special moments for families.

Fast forward a few short weeks and I received word that baby Jack had made his entrance into this world! I couldn’t WAIT to get him into the Newborn Studio! As I stated before, I had many things planned for his special session. And he was so good to me…just look at the magical images that were captured…

I knew I wanted to incorporate a rainbow theme (of course in a classic and timeless way), but I also wanted to incorporate the light and airy style as well–simple and clean.

Nine times out of ten, clients purchase more images.  Jack was SO ADORABLE in ALL of his images, mom and dad wanted ALL of his photographs.  This means their house will be FILLED with glorious images of this sweet little nugget.

Newborn Baby Photography | Charlotte | Meet Elliot

Recently in my Charlotte, NC newborn photography studio, I was able to meet and snuggle sweet little Elliot.  This little guy was a DREAM during his session–so cuddly and sweet and sleepy! Mom and dad brought proud big sister to partake in the photograph festivities as well.  I LOVE seeing how siblings interact with their new baby brother or sister.  Some kids are OBSESSED with the new addition and some kids could care less.  But either way it’s fun to document the story of the each family dynamic;)

One of my favorite parts of newborn photography is capturing those tiny details, and Elliot’s details were so beautiful! Take a look below…

Mom (Melissa) contacted me earlier this year letting me know she was pregnant with their third baby (WOO HOO!).  They already had two rambunctious boys and they were waiting until delivery to find out the gender of this sweet little one.  I love, love, LOVE sharing the excitement with families and trying to guess the gender based on cravings and comparing pregnancies to see if we can all make an accurate guess.  When we met for the maternity session, Dad (Jonathon) stated that he thought for sure it was going to be a girl because Melissa craved meat, more than she ever had in the time he had known her.  This made me chuckle–cravings are so different with each pregnancy, no matter what the gender is.

For their maternity session, the lighting was magical and the weather was just right, which makes for stunning Maternity photos, don’t you think?

“she was almost born in our truck!”

Fast forward to quite an exciting entrance!  Little Miss Molly entered the world April 22 at 8:15pm and was almost born in their truck on the way to the hospital! Melissa started to feel early labor signs that weekend, but kept pushing it aside as you do with your third pregnancy.  Well things progressed rather quickly and the next thing they knew they were at the hospital rushing to get a spot in the ER!  Keys thrown at the valet, wheelchair in tow, and before anyone knew it, out she came!  Everything was so crazy that it took awhile to sink in that they had a GIRL!!

 

All craziness aside, this little girl was a DREAM during her session.  You never would have guessed that her delivery was chaotic because she slept through her entire session.  Just look at all her adorableness!

The props, wraps and headbands were carefully selected from my Studio where I have a slight (ah-em) addiction (I promise, I’ll get help someday:).  One of my favorite pieces was this adorable headband (seen below) by my sweet friend over at Vanilla Lullaby.  Isn’t it so dainty and pretty on sweet little Molly?!

I am SO blessed to be able to snuggle sweet little babes and capture their cuteness on a regular basis.  I love hearing the stories of their exciting births, sharing the struggles of being a first time parent, and bonding with the entire family.  When you book a newborn session with KatieRie Photography, you’ll get the whole she-bang.
