Welcome to WORLD, Baby Maximiliano!

Guys…when I say I love my job, I mean–I. LOVE. MY. JOB. This sweet family came to the newborn photography studio a few weeks ago, but that wasn’t the first time we met.  I had the honor of capturing this gorgeous mommy for a beautiful golden hour maternity shoot.

Mommy was gorgeous and glowing and had the rest of the family dressed to perfection for the shoot as well.  During that shoot, mom revealed she was having a BOY!! And I was super excited for his arrival.  We bonded over having two girls and then a boy and talked about how the dynamic was about to change.  I was just ITCHING to get this little guy into the studio.  And just LOOK at how amazing his session was…are you ready?

One of my favorite things about being a newborn photographer is featuring my sweet clients and being able to re-live the session in a blog post.  This little guy came to the studio in September and I just about DIED when I saw his beautiful head of RED HAIR! I mean, just LOOK at his strawberry fluff!

Red Headed Baby Bliss

Baby Max came to the studio and slept the entire time–guys, this DOES NOT always happen!  But he was an absolute DREAM! When newborn clients book a session with KatieRie Photography, I send a Newborn Studio Guide to help parents prepare for their session. These are my list of secrets as a (somewhat self-) proclaimed baby whisperer!  I tell them that I know sometimes babies won’t comply 100 percent, but to try to follow the guide so that our session can go extremely smooth.  Nine times out of ten–it works! Can you tell that baby Max’s parents read the guide?!

Sweet Baby Dreams

We were able to get many different looks during Max’s session–a great mixture of “beanbag” poses (the first set of photos in this post) as well as prop poses.  The colors that were chosen were soft neutrals that were perfect for the beginning of fall. Plus Max looked absolutely adorable in every single set-up! I love using a variety of textures and layers to add depth and character to each “look.” But I also like the set-ups to compliment each other so everything will look gorgeous hanging in clients’ homes!

Overall, Max’s session was a HUGE success.  I think Max thought so too.

Welcome to the World, Sweet Lily!

Light, airy, & organic style

Lily’s mommy reached out looking for a newborn photographer whose style was light, airy and organic style . I was PUMPED because this is a perfect description of my images! Needless to say, we hit it off right away. Lily made her entrance into this world in August and came to the studio when she was eight days old–this is (mostly) my “sweet spot” for newborns.  Y’all. She was a DREAM! We were able to move from pose to pose with ease–I keep the studio super warm and comfortable so the babies (like Lily) stay sleepy and snug throughout the entire session. Even parents comment how they could fall asleep! Just look at all the cuteness that was captured!

Charlotte, NC Newborn PhotosMy studio is equipped with all different wraps, textures and props–no need to bring a THING! I mean–look at these delicate headbands! I have TONS of gorgeous pieces that are handmade specifically for baby photos.  The headbands used during Lily’s session were made by my beautiful friend over at Vanilla Lullaby isn’t the detail amazing? Perfect little bows and delicate flowers–stunning on little baby girls.

During the session, I was able to get many different looks, colors and textures. Just look how beautiful baby Lily is in the creams, greens and purples! Mommy was very pleased to see so much variety in her gallery. Gorgeous works of art that will be hung throughout this family’s home. Images that capture how incredibly precious and gorgeous this sweet little nugget is.

Welcome to the world, sweet Baby Jack!

As a newborn and baby photographer here in Charlotte, I LOVE connecting with people and hearing their stories.  When this momma contacted me, wanting to schedule a maternity and newborn session, I knew I wanted to capture this adorable growing family with the beautiful golden light for the maternity session, and I had a bunch of goodies up my sleeve for the newborn session as well. Just look at the warmth and love captured in the below photographs–isn’t mommy stunning?!

Charlotte Newborn Photographer || KatieRie PhotographyDuring the maternity session, mom shared with me that their precious baby was LONG awaited for.  Baby Jack was a rainbow baby.  Now, ALL babies are special and precious and perfect little miracles, but rainbow babies represent the promise of hope after a storm. I truly LOVE my job, but when I hear stories like this it takes the emotion to a whole new level.  I am extremely humbled and honored to be chosen to capture these special moments for families.

Fast forward a few short weeks and I received word that baby Jack had made his entrance into this world! I couldn’t WAIT to get him into the Newborn Studio! As I stated before, I had many things planned for his special session. And he was so good to me…just look at the magical images that were captured…

I knew I wanted to incorporate a rainbow theme (of course in a classic and timeless way), but I also wanted to incorporate the light and airy style as well–simple and clean.

Nine times out of ten, clients purchase more images.  Jack was SO ADORABLE in ALL of his images, mom and dad wanted ALL of his photographs.  This means their house will be FILLED with glorious images of this sweet little nugget.

Charlotte Baby Photography–Sweet Bodhi Myles

This was a session that I was super excited about–I mean, I get excited for ALL my sessions, but this one was extra special.  Bodhi’s mom and I have been good friends for a couple of years now.  We met at the WAC about three years ago in a workout class that was super crowded (heck, I think our equipment was almost overlapping, we had no choice but to start chatting), our personalities clicked over a shared love for wine and sarcasm and the rest is history. We used to talk extensively about adding a fourth child to each of our families so we could “vacation” at the hospital–you know–iced diapers, food delivery, watching un-interrupted movies of your choice…?

A FOURTH boy!!

Well, fast forward a couple of years where mom broke the news to me letting me know she was 19 weeks pregnant! HA! And with her FOURTH BOY! So exciting!! When she asked if I would photograph her little one I was ecstatic.  Just look at the cuteness that was captured!
