Guys…when I say I love my job, I mean–I. LOVE. MY. JOB. This sweet family came to the newborn photography studio a few weeks ago, but that wasn’t the first time we met. I had the honor of capturing this gorgeous mommy for a beautiful golden hour maternity shoot.

And yes, you can definitely read all about that session–right here! Mommy was gorgeous and glowing and had the rest of the family dressed to perfection for the shoot as well. During that shoot, mom revealed she was having a BOY!! And I was super excited for his arrival. We bonded over having two girls and then a boy and talked about how the dynamic was about to change. I was just ITCHING to get this little guy into the studio. And just LOOK at how amazing his session was…are you ready?

New Baby Photography

Welcome to the World, Baby Owen!

“I spent many sleepless nights during my pregnancy asking for referrals and searching on Facebook for a newborn photographer. I fell in love with Katie’s photographs and was so excited when I was able to lock her in for my newborn session. Once Owen arrived, I scheduled my session within the first week. She was fabulous with my son, her studio is so nice, very clean and she did not disappoint. She supplied all the props, had sound machines to calm my baby, and he was like putty in her hands. I couldn’t be happier with our photographs and can’t wait to schedule a family session later this year. I highly recommend Katie, she is very talented and I’m so glad she was able to capture my baby’s first photographs.” ~Amy

Y’all. Words like these make my heart SING!!! All the hearts. All the CAPS. ALL. THE. FEELS. I love my job; I love capturing these tiny babies. I love the challenge of newborns, capturing the tiny details and the big moments. Every little thing about it. And Owen’s session was no different. Just look at all the cuteness that we captured:

He was so sweet during his entire session. I think he whimpered maybe once near the end. Mom and dad were perfect and trusting and sat back watching the magic of the session. Mom told me she wanted earth tones, neutrals, and possibly some blues and grays. I told her she came to the right spot! The studio is completely stocked with all things neutral, classic, and earth tones galore. Mom had a blast browsing the different props and layers that are all over the studio. To say this was a perfect fit on all levels is an accurate assumption. Can’t wait to see this little guy grow in his milestones!

Gorgeous Maternity Photos

This sweet mommy found me on Instagram and I’m so glad she did! It’s crazy to me how social media has become this huge networking platform. SO different than how things were when I was younger! Anyways, mom reached out wanting to book a maternity and newborn session. She only had a few weeks left of her pregnancy and was a teensy bit nervous I wouldn’t have any openings, but luckily I moved some things around and was able to capture some amazing images of this sweet family of soon-to-be-FIVE.

When I say this family nailed it for getting ready for their session, I mean it. They hit it out of the park. Mom has a very similar style to mine. I love the creams, neutrals, the classic pieces. This whole family was gorgeously dressed ready to be captured.

At the session, mom and I were talking and she revealed she was having a baby boy! EEK! That means she would have two girls and a boy, just like me. Plus her younger two would be very close in age, just like my three littles. Needless to say, we had a lot to talk about. I love how soon to be big sister was so tender in kissing mommy’s belly here, don’t you?

Once we got our yummy golden light, mom changed into her fabulous deep blue maternity gown (both gowns were from https://www.sewtrendyaccessories.com/ and were to die for!). This was the perfect outfit to showcase the sweet baby boy growing in her belly. And just look at the amazing lighting!
