A non-refundable retainer and signed contract secures your session date. This also goes towards your final balance. Once received, your due date gets penciled onto the calendar. Get in touch shortly after your baby arrives so we can prepare for your session within the first 48 hours. Studio Newborn sessions are ideal during the first 10 days of life; this is when babies are the sleepiest and can be transitioned from pose to pose with ease. Most parents contact me directly from the hospital so I can set aside your session date and time. Most newborn sessions are held Saturday or Sunday mornings. Of course beautiful images can still be captured with older newborns as well!
Lifestyle sessions take place in the comfort of your home. These are unposed sessions, capturing the simplistic beauty of the first few weeks of life. Lifestyle sessions can take place within the first month of life. Contact today to set up your session!
Newborn Safety
Safety is extremely important when it comes to newborn photography. There are specific techniques used to safely position babies in squishy, curly poses. KatieRie has trained with some of the best newborn photographers in the world and continues to invest in her education and skill to ensure you have the best experience during your session. Cheaper is NOT better when it comes to newborn photography--invest in someone who is experienced and trained.

The Studio & Newborn Props
The studio is located just outside of Charlotte (Gastonia), NC with state of the art equipment and plenty of props, setups, textured layers, backdrops, headbands and wraps to meet clients' desires. Sessions can last anywhere from 1-3 hours (sometimes longer), so be prepared to block off time dedicated to the shoot.
The studio is very warm, making it comfortable for the new baby and there are plenty of different setups to move from one look to another with ease. Sessions are stylized with timeless and vintage pieces that will stand the test of time. I believe less is more, showcasing the beauty of the new baby, not overpowering it. All you need to do is show up with your precious bundle and I will take care of the rest!
Newborn skin--as precious and sweet smelling as it is--is sometimes flaky, red, full of baby acne, or slightly jaundice. It's reasons like these that the turn around time for editing is typically four weeks from your session date.
KatieRie's mentality is quality over quantity. It takes a tremendous aount of time to create beautiful compositions that you WILL get printed, instead of just sitting on your hard drive.
